Does your job or daily activities require you to stand for long periods of time? Consider insoles. Wearing supportive shoe insoles have been shown to help ease back pain. Here are a few other tips to keep you feeling better when you need to stand:
Wear shoes that provide proper arch support.
Avoid high-heeled shoes or boots.
Consider shock-absorbent shoes or an anti-fatigue mat.
Use a footrest measuring 10% of your height and shift your weight from foot to foot.
Keep your head, neck, torso, and legs vertically aligned.
To decrease stress on your back and feet, consider leaning on a tall chair.
